The 90-Day Business Credit Building System: A Week-by-Week Execution Plan

The 90-Day Business Credit Building System: A Week-by-Week Execution Plan

Ninety days is enough time to go from a new LLC with a DUNS number and no credit history to a business with an active Paydex score, 5–7 reporting tradelines across multiple bureaus, and a credit profile ready to support Tier 3 credit applications. This is not theory — it is a specific execution sequence based on how vendor reporting cycles, bureau activation timelines, and approval prerequisites actually work.

Prerequisites before Day 1: This system assumes your legal entity is formed, your EIN is issued, your DUNS number is active (not "in process"), your business bank account has been open for at least 30 days, your business address and phone number are consistent across all registrations, and your business email is on your own domain.

Days 1–7: Foundation Setup

  • Confirm your D&B file is active and all entity information matches your state registration exactly — name, address, phone, and business description
  • Register your Experian Business file at businesscreditfacts.experian.com if not yet active
  • Assign a SIC or NAICS code to your D&B profile that accurately reflects your primary business activity
  • Apply to Crown Office Supplies and Summa Office Supplies — both approve same-day or next-day for new entities with no prior business credit
  • Make your first purchase from both vendors within 48 hours of account opening

Days 8–14: First Wave of Applications

  • Apply to Uline — largest credit limit of the Tier 1 starters, reports to D&B
  • Apply to Ordertrend or Strategic Network Inc. — both approve quickly, both report to D&B
  • Make a purchase from each new account within 7 days of approval
  • Set up bill payment reminders for all active accounts — target payment within 15 days of invoice date, not 30

Days 14–30: Stabilize and Monitor

  • Apply to one more Tier 1 vendor — Quill (reports to D&B and Experian) is the preferred fifth account
  • Pay the first invoices from Crown Office Supplies and Summa Office Supplies as they come due — within 15 days of invoice date
  • Begin monitoring your D&B CreditSignal dashboard for tradeline activity — first accounts should begin appearing by day 30
  • Do not apply to any additional accounts this week — let your initial applications settle and begin reporting before adding new ones

Days 30–45: Paydex Activation Window

  • Pull your D&B report — you should see 2–3 tradelines appearing
  • Pay all outstanding invoices from your first wave of vendors
  • If you have 3+ tradelines reporting, your Paydex score should activate in this window — typically between 70 and 80 depending on payment timing
  • Apply to Creative Analytics or Wise Business Plans for a service-based tradeline that diversifies your account type mix

Days 45–60: Tier 1 Completion

  • Make second-month purchases from all active vendor accounts
  • Pay all invoices within 15 days — this is the payment cycle that builds your Paydex from 75 toward 80
  • Pull your Experian Business report — Crown Office, Summa, and Quill should all be appearing by this point
  • Apply to Office Depot Business — by day 45–60 your entity has sufficient history for this account
  • Verify Paydex score has activated and is at or above 75

Days 60–75: Tier 2 Entry

  • With 5+ tradelines reporting and Paydex 75+, you have the prerequisites for most Tier 2 vendors
  • Apply to Amazon Business line of credit — reports to Experian Business and adds a higher-limit account to your profile
  • Apply to AtoB Fuel Card — accessible fuel card with an EIN-only approval path, begins building revolving credit history
  • Continue making monthly purchases and early payments on all Tier 1 accounts

Days 75–90: Score Reinforcement

  • Third payment cycle hits all Tier 1 accounts — Paydex score reinforced by consistent early payment history across multiple vendors
  • Pull reports from all three bureaus — D&B, Experian Business, and Equifax Business — for a full profile assessment
  • Target Paydex 80+, 8–10 total tradelines, Intelliscore beginning to populate
  • Evaluate readiness for Tier 3 fuel card applications — Shell Business Card and BP Business Solutions become accessible at this profile level

Month 4 and Beyond: Tier 3 and Funding Readiness

By month 4 with consistent execution, your profile should support:

  • Paydex 80–100 based on payment consistency
  • Intelliscore Plus 60+ as Experian tradelines accumulate 90+ days of history
  • 10–15 total tradelines across three bureaus
  • Tier 3 fuel card and revolving account applications
  • Tier 4 corporate card applications (Brex, Ramp, Divvy) if revenue is demonstrable
  • Readiness assessment for Venturre funding program access
