Bureau Dispute Letter (General Inaccuracy)

Use this when disputing any inaccurate tradeline directly with Equifax, Experian, or TransUnion. Reference the specific account, the inaccuracy, and request removal or correction under Section 611 of the FCRA.

Debt Validation Letter (FDCPA)

Send this to a debt collector within 30 days of first contact. Under the FDCPA, they must cease collection activity and provide written verification of the debt before contacting you again.

Important: Always send dispute and validation letters via USPS Certified Mail with Return Receipt. The postmark and delivery confirmation are your legal proof.

Pay-for-Delete Request Letter

Use this to negotiate removal of a collection account in exchange for payment. The letter proposes the agreement before any money changes hands and requests written confirmation of the deletion.

Goodwill Late Payment Removal Letter

Send this directly to the original creditor (not the bureau) when requesting removal of a late payment due to a documented hardship. A brief, honest, and professional tone works best.
